Gwangju Buk-gu Selects Return Gifts to Establish 'Hometown Love Donation System'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 2nd that it has selected 30 types of return gifts to ensure the successful establishment of the Hometown Love Donation System, which will be implemented from this month.
At the end of last year, Buk-gu held a return gift selection committee meeting and selected all 30 products from 14 items and 15 companies submitted through a public contest to guarantee diversity in selection as return gifts.
The selected return gifts are composed of a variety of items including 3 agricultural products such as agricultural product bundles, Bukgwangju Ddanggam (tomato), and Bitchandeul rice gift sets; 10 processed foods such as Sikhye and plum Hangwa sets; 11 industrial products such as eco-friendly detergents and tumblers; and 6 crafts such as flower tea sets and eco-bags.
Accordingly, agreements with suppliers have been completed, and the registration of return gifts in the Hometown Love e-um system is scheduled to be finalized in January, ensuring the smooth promotion of the Hometown Love Donation System.
In particular, J-Hope of BTS, a world star from Buk-gu, has also actively expressed his intention to donate to help the development of his hometown.
Moon In, the mayor of Buk-gu, said, “We will thoroughly prepare so that the Hometown Love Donation System, which contributes to addressing local population decline, securing funds for regional issues, and revitalizing the local economy, can contribute to the development of Buk-gu.”
Meanwhile, the Hometown Love Donation System allows individuals to donate to their hometown or any desired local government other than their current address (basic or metropolitan) and receive tax deduction benefits and return gifts.
