View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] GS Retail announced on the 2nd that it will introduce foreign currency exchange kiosks at about 10 locations, including convenience store GS25 and supermarket GS The Fresh, for pilot operation starting on the 3rd.
The foreign currency exchange kiosks were developed by Woody, which operates the integrated foreign currency management service BuddyCash. They allow exchange of foreign currencies from a total of 15 countries, including the US dollar, Japanese yen, euro, and Chinese yuan, into Korean won. Korean won can be exchanged into four foreign currencies: US dollar, Japanese yen, euro, and Chinese yuan.
Exchange rate information can be checked in real time on the foreign currency exchange kiosk screen. The exchange rate information is linked with data from major commercial banks and automatically updated every hour. If customers apply for a reservation exchange service through the BuddyCash application (app) before using the foreign currency exchange kiosk, they can enjoy up to a 50% preferential exchange rate benefit. GS Retail plans to continuously expand preferential exchange rate benefits in line with the trend of increasing overseas travel.
