Chungnam Applies Smart Technology to Parking Lots and Parks to Enhance User Convenience
[Asia Economy (Hongseong) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Chungnam Province is enhancing user convenience by applying smart technology to parking lots and parks.
The province announced on the 2nd that it will conduct a project contest this month targeting cities and counties within the province to promote the 'Smart City Expansion Project' this year.
The contest will be conducted by categorizing proposals into parking lots, parks, and ICT projects.
In the parking lot sector, items that can help alleviate parking difficulties by integrating vehicle automatic recognition detection sensors, Wi-Fi, CCTV, and smart technology into existing facilities will be solicited.
In the park sector, the theme is installing smart streetlights, intelligent CCTV, smart benches, safety bells, exercise facilities that measure physical activity, etc., to prevent and solve social problems. ICT projects can be autonomously proposed according to the conditions of each city or county, including environmental monitoring, wireless fire monitoring systems, support services for protecting hazardous facilities such as gas, missing person search services for lost children and dementia patients, and road management platforms based on Internet of Things technology.
The project budget is 5.7 billion KRW allocated across the three sectors.
Project proposals must be prepared according to the specified format and submitted to the province by official document between the 25th and 27th of next month.
The province plans to select the final project sites next month through a selection committee that will conduct document evaluation, on-site inspections, and quantitative and qualitative assessments.
