Reflecting Worsening COVID-19 Situation in China
[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] Prime Minister Han Duck-soo announced on the 30th that "for those entering from China until the end of February next year, COVID-19 testing will be mandatory before and after entry."
Prime Minister Han made this statement during his opening remarks at the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters meeting held at the Government Seoul Office, saying, "We are inevitably strengthening quarantine measures to prevent domestic spread due to the worsening COVID-19 situation in China." Accordingly, only those who test negative through a PCR test within 48 hours before entry or a rapid antigen test within 24 hours will be allowed to board domestic flights.

Regarding Chinese visas, Prime Minister Han also stated, "We will first restrict the issuance of short-term visas, except for diplomatic, official, essential business, and humanitarian reasons, until the end of next month." Additionally, he said, "We will temporarily suspend additional flights from China and unify all flights arriving from China to Incheon Airport for efficient quarantine management of incoming travelers."
