The Daejeon City government announced on the 30th that it operated an overload crackdown team consisting of one enforcement squad and one patrol squad this year to monitor overloaded vehicles and imposed fines totaling 96.5 million KRW on the vehicle owners of the caught vehicles.
The city analyzes that the doubling of overloaded vehicle violations this year compared to last year is largely due to the increase in large-scale construction sites in the region.
Earlier, the city conducted "Overloaded Vehicle Prevention Publicity and Intensive Crackdown" in the first half of this year and carried out joint crackdowns with police stations and related organizations on an irregular basis.
In June, the city also signed a business agreement to cooperate on joint crackdowns of overloaded vehicles in both directions of the Daejeon-Nonsan access roads with the Nonsan National Land Management Office.
