30s Woman Arrested and Sentenced for Repeated Stalking While on Trial for Stalking Charges
Arrested in Flagrante Delicto Following Male Report While Awaiting Trial Without Detention
[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Taewon] A woman in her 30s accused of stalking her ex-boyfriend has been handed over to the prosecution in custody. It was revealed that she continued stalking even while on trial without detention.
On the 29th, the Mapo Police Station in Seoul announced that they had sent Ms. A, who is suspected of violating the Stalking Punishment Act, to the prosecution in custody the day before.
Ms. A was subject to provisional measures 1 to 4 (detention in a jail or detention center) by the police for stalking her ex-boyfriend whom she broke up with in July, but she violated these measures and was sent to the prosecution without detention last month. At that time, the police applied for an arrest warrant for Ms. A, but the court dismissed the request.
