Kim Eye Hospital Appoints Specialist Kim Cheol-gu as New Hospital Director
First Hospital Director with Experience as Resident at Kim Eye Hospital
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] Konyang Medical Foundation Kim Eye Hospital (Chairman Kim Hee-soo) announced on the 29th that Kim Cheol-gu, an ophthalmology specialist, has been appointed as the 9th hospital director. Director Kim is the first specialist who completed the residency training program at Kim Eye Hospital's medical department to be appointed as hospital director.
Director Kim, an authority in retinal disease treatment, graduated from Chung-Ang University College of Medicine in 1991 and completed his residency as part of the first class at Kim Eye Hospital, obtaining his ophthalmology specialist certification in 2000. Since then, he has worked as a specialist and professor at Kim Eye Hospital and Konyang University Hospital's ophthalmology departments, and in 2008, he completed the International Research Fellowship program at the Doheny Eye Institute of USC in the United States.

At Kim Eye Hospital, he held key positions such as head of the retinal hospital team, director of medical services, and head of planning, and has served as deputy director since January 2020. Director Kim will assume office on January 1 of next year. He stated, "Kim Eye Hospital, which has served as a guardian of the nation's eye health for the past 60 years, will strive to become a model hospital that sets the standard for ophthalmology in the future."
