Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education announced on the 6th that it was selected as an excellent education office in school accounting in the Ministry of Education's '2022 Local Education Finance Analysis and Evaluation' and will receive a commendation from the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education.
The Ministry of Education analyzes and diagnoses 16 indicators in three areas?soundness, efficiency, and accountability of local education finance from the previous year?targeting 17 city and provincial offices of education nationwide according to the Local Finance Act, then selects and rewards excellent institutions.
In this evaluation, the Provincial Office of Education received high scores for improving the grant method of purpose-specific project funds in school accounting, securing sound financial management by minimizing unused funds at individual schools, and strengthening autonomy and accountability in school accounting.
The Provincial Office of Education was evaluated for gradually expanding purpose-specific project funds that can be integrated and supported as basic school operating expenses, and for implementing predictable administration by notifying individual schools of the purpose-specific project fund allocation plan collectively at the beginning of the year and incorporating it into the main budget.
