Gimhae-si to Hold Bell Ringing Ceremony and New Year's Eve Concert on the 31st

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] On the 31st, the 2022 New Year's Eve Bell Ringing Ceremony will be held around the bell pavilion in Gimhae City, Gyeongnam.
Gimhae City announced on the 28th that it will hold a New Year's Eve (Jeya) concert and ring the bell 33 times on that day.
The New Year's Eve concert, starting at 11 PM, will feature a daebuk percussion performance by the Gimhae branch of the Gyeongnam Federation of National Art Organizations, a performance by the five-member mixed group A-Plus, and invited performances by baritone Jeong Seunghwa and soprano Park Songyi.
Following this, the bell ringing ceremony will include a congratulatory performance by the Gimhae City Choir and the bell ringing itself, along with side events such as hanging New Year's wish papers and tea sharing.
The city explained that, in preparation for the first event in three years since the outbreak of COVID-19, it has established safety management measures in cooperation with the police, fire department, and others to prepare for crowd congestion.
From 10 PM on the day to 1 AM the next day, some roads in Daeseong-dong Gaya Street will also be closed.
For the convenience of citizens participating in the event, three temporary parking lots will be set up by opening Gubong Elementary School, Gimhae Construction Technical High School, and Gimhae Office of Education, and the Busan-Gimhae Light Rail Transit will operate 12 additional temporary trains with extended service for 1 hour and 30 minutes.
