Hampyeong-gun Secures 181.4 Billion Won in National Funding...Expectations for Momentum in Pending Projects
Inclusion of 63 Projects Including Naegyo Gigak District Flood and Disaster Living Zone Improvement Project

According to the county on the 28th, it secured a 2023 government budget of 181.4 billion KRW (58.6 billion KRW for local pending projects, 122.8 billion KRW for government-led projects) necessary for promoting county administrative pending projects.
Among the total 63 major projects (budget 58.6 billion KRW) reflected in next year's government budget, 24 new projects amounting to 12.2 billion KRW and 39 ongoing projects amounting to 46.4 billion KRW were included respectively.
In addition to national treasury projects, considering various public contests and national treasury subsidy projects, the scale of the 2023 national subsidy budget is expected to increase further.
Looking at the major national subsidy projects by sector, in the marine and fisheries sector, ▲ Seokchang Port and Wolcheon Port Fishing Village New Deal 300 Project (4.9 billion KRW) ▲ Hampyeong Bay Fisheries Resource Spawning and Habitat Creation Project (400 million KRW) were included, accelerating the restoration of ecosystem health and the creation of prosperous fishing villages.
In the safety and construction sector, ▲ Naegyo Kigak District Flood and Wind Disaster Living Zone Maintenance Project (1.2 billion KRW) ▲ Natural Disaster Risk Improvement District Maintenance Project (3.6 billion KRW) secured project funds, planning to create a safe Hampyeong by repairing and reinforcing environments vulnerable to disasters.
In the environment and forestry sector, ▲ Hampyeong-eup Sewerage Priority Management Maintenance Project (4.5 billion KRW) ▲ Maintenance Project for Aging Pipelines at Eight Locations including Wolam (300 million KRW) ▲ Daedong-myeon Sewerage Priority Management Maintenance Project (500 million KRW) ▲ Hampyeong-eup Sewerage Priority Management Maintenance Project (4.5 billion KRW) ▲ New Forest Leisure Industry Promotion (900 million KRW) were reflected, and in the agriculture sector, ▲ Construction of Eco-friendly Scientific Farming Convergence Facility (500 million KRW) ▲ Hampyeong-eup Rural Hub Revitalization Project (4.1 billion KRW)
▲ Installation Project of Low Methane Forage Comprehensive Distribution Center (2.7 billion KRW) were secured.
Government-led projects include ▲ Relocation Project of the Livestock Resource Development Department of the National Institute of Animal Science (113 billion KRW) ▲ Facility Improvement Project of National Road No. 24 from Hampyeong to Haebo (7.7 billion KRW), among others.
Also, in the second half of 2022, special grants totaling 2.2 billion KRW were secured for projects such as ▲ Expansion and Paving of Rural Road No. 102 in Wolya (300 million KRW) ▲ Repair and Reinforcement of Aging Bridges including Jukrim Bridge and Two Others (400 million KRW) ▲ Installation Project of the Bokcheon District Pumping Station at Schools (600 million KRW) ▲ Maintenance Project of Disaster Risk Reservoir at Sabuje in Sonbul (900 million KRW).

County Governor Lee Sang-ik said, “As a result of active budget securing activities, we secured national funds for local development pending projects, enabling smooth project promotion,” and added, “We will promptly proceed to achieve early results for national treasury-supported pending projects that will lead Hampyeong-gun’s next 30 years, and also proactively respond to securing national funds by early discovering projects targeted for the 2024 national budget.”
