23 Years of Restricted Caller ID... Another Donation "For Neighbors in Need"
"Look under the outside car wheel" Found cash and a letter
"Hope it helps students without tuition and young heads of households"
The "Faceless Angel" of Nosong-dong, Jeonju, Jeollabuk-do, who has been continuing acts of kindness for 23 years, visited again this year to deliver a donation.
According to Jeonju City on the 27th, around 11 a.m. that day, a call with caller ID blocked came to the Nosong-dong Community Service Center in Jeonju.
The caller, the angel, said, "I placed (the donation) under the right wheel of a kindergarten vehicle near Seongsan Church. Please use it for neighbors in need," and then hung up.
The staff found a paper box containing bundles of 50,000 won bills, a piggy bank, and a letter in the vehicle in front of the church.
The letter read, "I hope this can be a small help to Jeonju students who have to give up their dreams due to lack of university tuition and to child-headed households," and added, "Stay strong, and may all your wishes come true. Happy New Year."
The first act of kindness by the "Faceless Angel," whose face, name, occupation, and age remain unknown, began in April 2000. At that time, the angel quietly left a piggy bank containing 584,000 won at the Jungnosong 2-dong office.
In 2002, piggy banks were delivered twice, on Children's Day, May 5, and in December. The amounts gradually increased, and in 2009, the angel left a donation of as much as about 80 million won.
Last year, despite the difficulties caused by COVID-19, the angel delivered 70,094,960 won along with a message saying, "Happy New Year and stay healthy, child-headed households."
Over 22 years and 23 times until last year, the total amount of donations left by the angel reached 807,281,119 won.

Scholarships are also awarded annually to 20 children from low-income families in Nosong-dong attending elementary, middle, and high schools.
Jeonju City also created the "Faceless Angel Road" around the Nosong-dong Community Service Center to honor the angel's kindness and erected a commemorative stone and an angel memorial hall.
Residents, to honor the angel's spirit and emulate the kindness, designated October 4 as "Angel's Day" and hold sharing and volunteer events to help neighbors in need.
Meanwhile, at the end of 2019, the donation left by the "Faceless Angel" was stolen.
