NH Investment & Securities and Together Art Sign Business Agreement for Art Piece Fractional Investment Transactions
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] NH Investment & Securities announced on the 26th that it has signed a strategic business agreement with Together Art, which operates the art piece fractional investment platform ‘Artogether,’ to facilitate art piece fractional investment transactions.
Through this business agreement, NH Investment & Securities will support the preparation of the investment contract securities registration statement for Together Art and will be responsible for linking investor accounts to ensure the safe management of customer deposits. Recently, financial authorities have determined that fractional investment products such as Korean beef and art pieces, following music copyright, are considered securities under the Capital Markets Act. Accordingly, five related businesses including Together Art must reorganize their business models within six months to meet the requirements set by the Securities and Futures Commission.
Together Art, which signed the strategic business agreement with NH Investment & Securities, is Korea’s first comprehensive art trading platform and the pioneer of the ArtTech (a combination of art and financial technology) platform. Since its service launch in August 2018, it has recruited 146 artworks over four years and sold 30 pieces, with a total of one million fractional shares sold, amounting to approximately 9.5 billion KRW (including the secondary market).
