Netmarble Joins UNGC as First in Gaming Industry... Strengthening ESG Management
[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Choi] Netmarble announced on the 26th that it has joined the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) to strengthen ESG management and the practice of social responsibility.
The UNGC is an international agreement launched in 2000 in New York, USA, to promote corporate social responsibility. Currently, over 20,000 member companies from 162 countries worldwide participate. Member companies must comply with the 10 principles in four core areas of the UNGC: human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption, and submit and disclose an annual Communication on Progress (COP) report to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Netmarble is the first Korean gaming company to join the UNGC. Taking this opportunity, the company plans to internalize the 10 principles of the UN Global Compact across all aspects of corporate management and share its efforts reflecting sustainable management performance with stakeholders.
In particular, regarding human rights, Netmarble intends to continue efforts to achieve the level of a global ESG leader.
