[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seoul's Garak-dong Agricultural and Marine Products Wholesale Market (Garak Market) and others will enter the 2023 New Year holiday closure.
According to the Seoul Agro-Fisheries & Food Corporation (President Youngpyo Moon), among the Garak Market's fresh produce, the vegetable category will hold auctions until the evening of December 30 and is scheduled to reopen from the evening of January 2, 2023.
Also, the fruit category closed after the morning auction on December 31 and will resume auctions from the early morning of January 3, 2023.
Among the Garak Market's seafood category, the fresh fish and shellfish categories closed after the morning auction on December 31 and will restart from the evening auction on January 2, 2023, while the dried seafood category held auctions until the morning of December 31 and will resume from the early morning auction on January 3, 2023.
Additionally, the vegetable category of the Gangseo Agricultural Products Wholesale Market (hereafter ‘Gangseo Market’) auction system closed after the evening auction on December 30 and is scheduled to reopen from the evening auction on January 2, 2023.
The fruit category closed after the morning auction on December 31 and will proceed from the early morning auction on January 3, 2023. In the case of the market wholesaler system, transactions were conducted until 6 p.m. on December 31 and will resume from 6 p.m. on January 2, 2023.
The grain wholesale market conducted transactions until 6 p.m. on December 31 and is scheduled to resume transactions from 7 a.m. on January 2, 2023.
