Electric Mat Shipments Soar Amid Sudden Cold Wave
Shinil 'Electric Mat' Shipment Volume Up 15% Year-on-Year
'Convector Heater' Shipment Volume Increases by 34%
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Recently, as a cold wave has swept in, electric mats and 'convector heaters' that can warm up chilly homes are gaining popularity.
According to Shinil Electronics on the 22nd, with heating costs rising, the number of consumers seeking electric mats has increased, resulting in this year's shipment volume of electric mats by Shinil Electronics rising by about 15% compared to the previous year.
In October, Shinil introduced a new product for this year called the 'Premium Carbon Carpet Mat.' This product is characterized by its high energy efficiency, allowing users to experience excellent heating effects. The power consumption for general household use is 300 kW, and for a medium size, if used 8 hours daily for a month, the estimated electricity bill is about 5,000 KRW, making it affordable.
Along with the spread of seated culture, European-style convector heaters have also attracted attention. This year, Shinil's shipment volume of convector heaters increased by about 34% compared to the previous year. Convector heaters warm the cold air near the floor indoors, causing it to rise through natural convection, thereby heating the indoor space warmly and maintaining the warmth for a long time.
