[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] The Gwangju Seo-gu Council (Chairperson Go Kyung-ae) announced on the 21st that it concluded the schedule of the 308th regular session, which lasted 26 days, after the 3rd plenary session held on the 20th in the council's 2nd-floor main chamber.
During this regular session, the following were conducted: ▲2022 administrative affairs audit ▲Review of the 3rd supplementary revenue and expenditure budget for 2022 ▲Review of the 2023 revenue and expenditure budget and fund operation plan ▲Review of general agenda items.
Chairperson Go Kyung-ae stated, “The 2nd regular session of the 308th assembly, which began on the 25th of last month, included the administrative affairs audit for the first time since the inauguration of the 9th Seo-gu Council, drawing significant attention from residents and the media even before the opening.” She added, “On behalf of the Seo-gu Council, I express my gratitude to the Seo-gu Office executive officials who worked hard to prepare materials and responses for nearly a month, the Seo-gu Council members who faithfully fulfilled their fundamental role as representatives of the residents by exercising checks and oversight, and the 290,000 Seo-gu residents and media personnel who participated throughout this entire process.”
She continued, “I fully understand that due to the confrontation and clash of various opinions and voices, there were times when certain aspects did not meet the expectations of the residents.” She pledged, “In 2023, we promise to take this as an opportunity to tighten the reins again to become a dignified Seo-gu Council that respects and considers each other, aiming to establish a more desirable image of the council.”
Meanwhile, during the 308th regular session, the following ordinances were passed: ▲Ordinance on Safety Management of Outdoor Events ▲Partial amendment to the ordinance on shared use of vehicles equipped with wheelchair boarding facilities for elderly with mobility difficulties ▲Ordinance on Support for Youth Preparing for Independence ▲Ordinance on Support to Alleviate Child Housing Poverty.
