The Korea Forest Service announced on the 21st that it held a bilateral meeting at the Government Complex Daejeon for forest restoration in Uzbekistan.
The bilateral meeting was arranged at Uzbekistan's request to learn Korea's advanced forest restoration technology and efficient information management methods.
Uzbekistan is currently undertaking forest restoration funded by the World Bank, and the Korea Forest Service plans to cooperate in the ongoing forest restoration projects in Uzbekistan through technical support from related organizations such as the National Institute of Forest Science as a partner of the World Bank.
Previously, the World Bank and the Korea Forest Service signed a memorandum of understanding in 2020 to provide funds to countries needing forest restoration and to transfer forest greening technologies.
