GS Retail Provides Emergency Support of 10,000 Bottles of Drinking Water to Wando-gun Facing Water Shortage

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] GS Retail announced on the 21st that it has urgently supplied 10,000 bottles of water to Wando, which is suffering from a drinking water shortage due to drought.
GS Retail delivered bottled water to two locations, Wando-gun Yaksan-myeon Office and Gogeum-myeon Office, through the Korean Red Cross. Employees in charge of the GS25 stores in the Jeonnam region voluntarily participated to assist with the effort.
GS Retail practices ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management with a social contribution direction as a sharing platform in daily life, including emergency disaster relief support, support for socially marginalized groups, and environmental cleanup. Previously, in September, GS Retail provided emergency relief supplies consisting of beverages and energy bars to victims in the Pohang area, which suffered severe damage from an unprecedented typhoon.

A GS Retail official said, “GS Retail’s logistics centers nationwide and over 16,000 stores have established themselves as the lifeblood of the local economy and a social safety platform,” adding, “We hope this bottled water support will be a small but significant comfort to residents experiencing drinking water shortages.”
