"Beyond Prejudice, Communication" Lotte Hosts '2022 Diversity Forum'
Efforts to Promote Diversity Culture and Improve Employee Awareness on Gender, Disability, and Global Issues Over 10 Years
Leadership and Support System Effectiveness Enhancement, Presenting Strategic Directions for Developing Female Talent
[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Lotte is creating a platform for communication to establish a culture of diversity that serves as the foundation for organizational innovation.
On the 21st, Lotte announced that it will hold the '2022 Lotte Diversity Forum' at the Lotte Human Resources Development Institute Osan Campus. Approximately 200 executives and employees, including those responsible for corporate culture at affiliated companies, will attend, and the event will run for four hours starting at 1:30 PM. For employees who cannot attend in person, a live broadcast will be available on YouTube.
Since establishing the Diversity Charter in 2013, Lotte has taken the lead in recognizing individual diversity and creating conditions where employees can work without discrimination. As a result of nurturing female talent over the past decade through initiatives such as job diversity for women and a female leadership mentoring program, the number of female executives this year reached 47, accounting for 7.1% of all executives. Additionally, Lotte has worked to strengthen family-friendly systems and diversity by mandating paternity leave, extending maternity leave periods, expanding hiring of people with disabilities, and fostering foreign employees.
Last year, the 'WOW Forum,' which focused on female talent, was expanded to the 'Diversity Forum.' The scope was broadened beyond gender to include generations, disabilities, and global areas to spread a culture of diversity and share it with employees. This year, under the slogan "With the Power of Diversity, Renew and Benefit," the message is to shift the concept of diversity from a perspective of consideration to one of future growth. The logo symbolizes diversity blossoming like a flower, representing global, gender, generational, and disability diversity.
The first part of the 2022 Lotte Diversity Forum features an external speaker's lecture and a relay speech by employees sharing insights gained from experiencing generational differences. In the second part, Kwon Oh-seung, Executive Director of HR Innovation at Lotte Holdings, will present "HR Strategies to Strengthen Diversity at Lotte Group," followed by a discussion session with employees of different ranks, genders, and nationalities reflecting on the "10 Years of Female Talent Development." On this day, Lotte will also present four strategic directions for fostering female talent: enhancing commitment to female talent development, developing female leadership and reducing bias, improving the effectiveness of support systems, and raising company-wide awareness of diversity to promote qualitative growth from a mid- to long-term perspective.
