[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] On the 20th, Kim Hyun-ki, Chairman of the Seoul Metropolitan Council, held a meeting with Xing Haiming, Ambassador of China to Korea.
Chairman Kim discussed cooperation measures between the two councils and the embassy regarding the memorandum of understanding signed between the Seoul and Beijing councils last September. He also expressed deep condolences on the passing of former President Jiang Zemin.

Chairman Kim said, “I express my deep condolences on the passing of former Chinese President Jiang Zemin, who made great contributions to the establishment and development of Korea-China diplomatic relations,” adding, “This year marks the 30th anniversary of Korea-China diplomatic relations, and based on the long history and cultural exchanges we have shared, we will actively support and promote exchange cooperation at the council level to build a continuous relationship of trust.”
