According to the Korea Meteorological Administration on the 20th, rain or snow will fall across most parts of the country in the early hours of the 21st and will mostly stop between late afternoon and evening.
However, some areas in Gangwon Province, the Chungcheong region, Jeonbuk, and northern Jeonnam may experience precipitation until late at night.
Expected snowfall amounts are 5?10 cm in northern and eastern Gyeonggi, Gangwon Province, and mountainous areas of Jeju Island (with more than 15 cm in northern Gyeonggi and Gangwon), 2?8 cm in Seoul, Incheon, southwestern Gyeonggi, central and northern Chungbuk, and inland northern Gyeongbuk, and 1?3 cm in the Chungcheong region (excluding central and northern Chungbuk), eastern Jeonbuk, central inland Gyeongbuk, southern inland Gyeongbuk, western inland Gyeongnam, and the West Sea Five Islands.
Expected precipitation amounts are 5?20 mm in the southern coastal areas of Gyeongnam and Jeju Island, less than 5 mm on the eastern coasts of Gangwon and Gyeongbuk, and 5?10 mm nationwide elsewhere.
A preliminary heavy snow warning is expected to be issued for the entire Gyeonggi Province, and the Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters plans to activate Emergency Level 1 from 11 p.m.
The morning low temperatures will range from -6 to 5 degrees Celsius, and the daytime highs will be between 2 and 10 degrees Celsius, easing the below-freezing cold.
