GS Construction Signs MOU with AirFirst for Industrial Gas and ESG Technology Development

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyemin] GS Engineering & Construction announced on the 20th that it signed a business agreement with Airfirst at its headquarters in Jongno-gu, Seoul, to establish cooperation for the development of industrial gas and ESG-related businesses.
Through this business agreement, both companies plan to explore opportunities for joint projects related to the operation of ASU (Air Separation Unit) domestically and internationally. ASU refers to the process of compressing and purifying air under high pressure to produce high-purity oxygen, nitrogen, argon, and other gases. Additionally, they will jointly review new business areas related to ESG industries such as carbon reduction.
Airfirst is a domestic company specializing in the production and supply of industrial gases and supplies industrial gases produced through the operation of multiple ASU plants to major national key industries in Korea.

A GS Engineering & Construction official stated, "This cooperation is fundamentally aimed at exploring collaboration methods for the installation and operation of ASUs that may be included in future plant projects," adding, "We expect synergy effects with the ongoing eco-friendly ESG projects such as ammonia decomposition hydrogen production technology and carbon capture technology."
