Gochang-gun Launches Hometown Love Fund Management Committee... Appoints 9 Members

[Gochang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Gochang-gun, Jeonbuk, held the appointment ceremony for the members of the ‘Hometown Love Fund Management Deliberation Committee’ and its first deliberation meeting in preparation for the full implementation of the Hometown Love Donation System starting January 1 next year.

According to the county on the 19th, the committee consists of a total of nine members: three ex officio members and six appointed members, including experts on the Hometown Love Donation System.

The appointed members will be responsible for transparent and efficient management of donation income, fund operation plans and settlements, and the selection and evaluation of projects utilizing the fund.

They will also discuss discovering unique fund projects specific to Gochang-gun and fund operation methods, and continue preparations for the Hometown Love Donation System by carrying out procedures such as submitting the fund operation plan to the Gochang County Council and establishing the fund.

The Hometown Love Donation System allows individuals to donate up to 5 million KRW annually to local governments other than their current residence, receiving tax credit benefits and local specialties as return gifts.

Donations will be used by local governments to support socially vulnerable groups, protect and nurture youth, and improve the welfare of local residents.

Deputy County Mayor Noh Hyungsu said, “We will strive to manage the fund transparently and efficiently so that the precious donations given to the county can be used to improve the welfare of residents, ensuring donor satisfaction. We ask for the interest and participation of expatriates and others in the Hometown Love Donation Fund.”
