Namhae-gun Volunteers One Heart Sharing Contest Held ... Practicing Warm Sharing
The Volunteer Organizations Council of Namhae-gun, Gyeongnam, held the '2022 Namhae-gun Volunteer One Heart Sharing Festival.'
View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Song Jong-gu] The Namhae-gun Volunteer Organizations Council in Gyeongnam held the ‘2022 Namhae-gun Volunteers Unity Sharing Festival’ on the 15th at the Namhae-gun National Sports Center Multipurpose Hall.
The Unity Festival was held to commemorate the 17th Volunteer Day (December 5) and aimed to boost the morale and pride of volunteers who have practiced warm sharing throughout the year, promote participation in volunteer activities, and provide a harmonious venue where volunteers can come together.
About 350 people, including awardees, related organizations, groups, and volunteers, attended the event. The first part featured a violin and piano concerto performance that created a warm pre-event atmosphere. Additionally, videos showcasing volunteer activities throughout 2022 and a hometown love donation promotional video were screened, followed by commendations for meritorious individuals.
At the awards ceremony, commendations were presented in seven categories by the Governor of Gyeongnam Province, the Mayor of Namhae-gun, the President of the Korea Volunteer Center Association, the Director of the Gyeongnam Volunteer Center, the Chairman of the Provincial Center, the Chairman of the Provincial Volunteer Council, and the Chairman of the Namhae-gun Volunteer Organizations Council. A total of three organizations and 33 individuals received awards.
The second part included a singing contest, congratulatory performances, a unity sharing sports event, and a raffle, concluding the Volunteers Unity Sharing Festival successfully.
Ryu Young-hwan, Chairman of the Volunteer Organizations Council, said, “Volunteering begins with a warm heart that looks after and embraces the marginalized neighbors in our society. I would like to take this opportunity to express my deep gratitude once again to all volunteers who have spared no effort in volunteering. It is because of your passion leading volunteer activities that our society is warm and heartening.”
No Hye-young, Deputy Mayor, said, “I sincerely congratulate the holding of the Unity Sharing Festival. No matter how harsh the world becomes, it is because of you practicing the noble sharing of volunteering that warm kindness overflows.”

The Namhae-gun Volunteer Organizations Council consists of 24 volunteer groups and 2,064 volunteers who are devotedly practicing sharing throughout the county.
