This donation was made by collecting all the profits earned over the past year by the Yeonil-eup Saemaeul Women's Association members through the sale of seaweed, laver, kelp, and other products, and donating them to nurture local talent, deeply moving the local community.
The Yeonil-eup Saemaeul Women's Association participates weekly in sharing side dishes for neighbors in need, such as elderly living alone. In November, they delivered kimchi to 500 needy households through the Love Kimchi Sharing event, and have also led neighborly love practices by donating funds raised from collecting and selling recyclables and used clothes to help neighbors.
Kim Gyeongran, president of the Yeonil-eup Saemaeul Women's Association, said, "We happily made this donation to help our local future dream trees overcome economic difficulties even a little," adding, "Going forward, the Yeonil-eup Saemaeul Women's Association will continue to strive steadily to realize a community living together with neighbors in need, one step ahead of others."
On the same day, the Pohang Seonjae Volunteer Group also gathered the members' contributions and donated 3 million KRW in scholarships for talent development.
