11st "Surge in Sales of Insulation and Thermal Products Due to Winter Heating Cost Burden"
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] Consumers are increasingly trying to save on heating costs during the winter in this era of high inflation. 11st announced on the 15th that, based on an analysis of customer purchase data from the 1st to the 13th of this month, transactions for insulation and heat-retention products such as heating tents, insulation sheets, windproof vinyl, and thermal underwear have surged.
The transaction amount for ‘heating tents,’ which are installed indoors on the floor or bed, rose by about 350% compared to the previous week. ‘Door draft stoppers,’ attached to door gaps to block wind, increased by 141%, ‘windproof vinyl’ that blocks outside air rose by 154%, and ‘insulation sheets,’ commonly known as bubble wrap sheets, nearly doubled (96%) as well.
Sales of heat-retention products to maintain body temperature also showed an upward trend. During the same period, transactions for ‘men’s thermal underwear’ increased by 179%, ‘women’s heat-generating and functional underwear’ by 95%, and items such as ‘sleep socks’ (129%), ‘indoor slippers’ (141%), ‘hot packs’ (196%), and ‘hand warmers’ (183%) also rose steadily.
11st stated, “Since single-person households, who bear heating costs alone, feel the burden especially strongly, we plan to offer a variety of products that allow them to prepare economically for the winter cold.”
