800 Billion Investment Around Daegu Military Airport
Establishment of Sports Centers and More in Gunwi-gun and Uiseong-gun
[Asia Economy Yang Nak-gyu, Military Specialist Reporter] Large-scale welfare facilities will be established in Gunwi-gun and Uiseong-gun, areas near Daegu Military Airport.
On the 14th, the Ministry of National Defense held the 3rd meeting of the 'Daegu Military Airport Relocation Support Project Council,' hosted by Daegu City Hall, to discuss these matters.
At the council, they discussed the procedure for collecting residents' opinions on resident wish projects and the future implementation schedule out of the 300 billion KRW support project budget. The resident wish projects include building a parking tower, sports center, park, and complex cultural center in Gunwi-gun with 50 billion KRW, and constructing solar power facilities, parking lots, and parks in Uiseong-gun with 30 billion KRW.
The council plans to specify income increase projects through resident briefings and consultations with related organizations. The income increase projects are planned at a scale of 100 billion KRW for Gunwi-gun and 120 billion KRW for Uiseong-gun.

The Daegu Military Airport Relocation Support Project aims to promote the convenience and welfare improvement of residents in Gunwi-gun and Uiseong-gun, the areas surrounding the military airport relocation site. In June 2019, at the 3rd relocation site selection committee, it was decided to support a total of 300 billion KRW through this project, allocating 150 billion KRW each to Gunwi-gun and Uiseong-gun.
