Achievement of Winning for Two Consecutive Years Following Selection as an Excellent Institution in 2021
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] The Public Health Center of Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 14th that it was selected as an excellent institution for the 'Tick-borne Infectious Disease Prevention and Management Project' and received a commendation from the Minister of Health and Welfare.
This marks the second consecutive year the center has been recognized as an excellent institution, following the grand prize in 2021 and the encouragement award this year.
The evaluation of the tick-borne infectious disease project assessed local governments based on the establishment of project plans tailored to regional characteristics, the fidelity of project operation, and achievement of project performance goals.
The Public Health Center focused on customized education and promotional activities targeting village chiefs, returnees to farming and rural areas, and elderly agricultural workers, in collaboration with related organizations such as the Agricultural Technology Center, health branches, and health clinics.
Additionally, linked with health project education programs, intensive prevention education was conducted to improve awareness of tick-borne infectious diseases and promote preventive behaviors.

A health center official stated, “With the recent increase in scrub typhus cases, we urge adherence to prevention guidelines to avoid tick bites during farming and outdoor activities,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to prevent infectious disease outbreaks through preventive education and strengthened active promotional activities.”
