Shinsegae DF·Gyeongbokgung Duty-Free Shop Extend Incheon Airport Store Area Expansion Period
[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] Shinsegae DF (Shinsegae Duty Free) and Gyeongbokgung Duty Free's application to extend the period for increasing the store area at the Incheon Airport Terminal 1 departure hall duty-free shops has been approved.
On the 13th, the Korea Customs Service announced that the 6th Bonded Sales Shop License Review Committee approved the applications from Shinsegae DF and Gyeongbokgung Duty Free to extend the period for increasing their store areas. The two companies temporarily operated stores in the vacant duty-free zones at Incheon Airport Terminal 1, which became available after Lotte and Shilla Duty Free withdrew last year. Duty-free shops had been abandoning departure hall duty-free operations one after another due to the decline in overseas travelers following the spread of COVID-19.
