‘Evergreen Film Festival·Film University Graduation Ceremony’ Successfully Held … Collaboration between Gijang-gun and Dongseo University, Core Project of the ‘Evergreen Project’
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] On the 12th, Gijang-gun, Busan, held the 'Evergreen Film Festival and 2nd Film University Graduation Ceremony' at the Gijang-gun Office Chaseong Art Hall in collaboration with Dongseo University.
The 'Evergreen Film University' is a core project of the 'Evergreen Project' jointly promoted by Gijang-gun and Dongseo University. It is a specialized education program aimed at training senior actors by utilizing the university's film and video infrastructure for local senior citizens.
It was promoted with the goal of providing local seniors with opportunities to directly participate in cultural and artistic activities, improving quality of life through film and video culture, and preparing for a healthy and happy centenarian era.
From May to October, the Evergreen Film University trainees completed a curriculum including acting, singing, and dancing at the Jukseong Dream Set in Gijang-gun, participating directly in drama, film, and commercial shoots under the guidance of Dongseo University professors.
At the event, the web drama 'There Are Small Roles, But No Small Actors' and the documentary film 'Evergreen,' which the trainees had participated in through the 'Evergreen Film Festival,' were screened. This was followed by a congratulatory performance, a report on the Film University's achievements, encouragement speeches, awarding of completion plaques, and commemorative photos.
Professor Hyungwoo Kim of Dongseo University said in the achievement report, "Thanks to the passion of the trainees, the Evergreen Film University was successfully completed," adding, "In particular, the trainees appeared directly in a consumer-participation advertisement for a pharmaceutical company, achieving a meaningful result as it was broadcast."
One trainee shared, "Evergreen Film University gave great vitality to my monotonous life," and expressed gratitude, saying, "I sincerely thank Gijang-gun and Dongseo University for providing quality education and an opportunity to prepare for the second act of life during the difficult times of COVID-19."

Before the event, Gijang-gun Mayor Jongbok Jeong met with Dongseo University Executive Vice President Jungseon Kim to discuss ways to link and develop local government and regional university cooperation in film, video, and local cultural tourism content.
