On this day, Mayor Lee Kang-deok, City Council Chairman Baek In-gyu, city council members, and senior officials visited the statue of Chairman Park Tae-joon located within POSTECH to lay flowers and pay their respects.
In a solemn atmosphere, the event honored Chairman Park Tae-joon's noble spirit, who coexisted and thrived with the local community, created something from nothing with the philosophy of "There is no absolute despair" and the spirit of "Woo Hyang Woo," and laid the foundation for the steel industry and Korea's industrialization.
They reflected on Chairman Park's achievements, who, based on the spirit of steelmaking for national prosperity, patriotism, and the 'Cheongam spirit' of challenge and creativity he demonstrated during his lifetime, built POSCO into a global company and devoted himself to the development of Pohang and South Korea.
