The performance competition was organized to review the pharmaceutical management projects carried out by public health centers within Gyeongbuk Province over the past year, share best practices, and explore the direction for next year’s projects.
Among the core projects, the evaluation of eight indicators related to drug and medical device management serves as a cornerstone for improving safety management levels under the goal of ‘Creating a Safe Pharmaceutical Environment for Citizens.’
Nam-gu Public Health Center was recognized for inspecting the proper operation of nearly 800 pharmaceutical businesses throughout the year to prevent illegal distribution of drugs and medical devices, and for preventing environmental pollution caused by randomly discarded waste pharmaceuticals by collecting 9 tons of waste pharmaceuticals through public-private cooperation with the Pohang City Pharmaceutical Association.
Through the Medical Environment Safety Volunteer Group, the center was also highly evaluated for establishing a safe pharmaceutical environment in daily life by promoting emergency medical response measures such as illegal drug abuse prevention campaigns, public late-night pharmacies combined with cardiopulmonary resuscitation training, and organ donation hope registration.
