A hackathon is a competition likened to a marathon where software developers and planners form teams to create deliverables (prototypes) within a limited time. LG Uplus named its first in-house hackathon 'Hackstival' (Hack+Festival) to convey the meaning of a ‘festival’ for developers.
The 1st Hackstival was held from 9 a.m. on the 8th until noon the next day at the Orange Room in the LG Uplus Magok building in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, with a total of nine teams participating. LG Uplus expects to discover customer-centric platform ideas through this competition and to spread a rapid internal collaboration culture during the development process.
LG Uplus is developing its business centered on the ‘4 major platforms’ as a new growth strategy, and in this process, it is internalizing development capabilities to quickly respond to market demands. To this end, it is pursuing developer recruitment and establishing a unique Uplus development culture.
