The 'U+ Hope Library' is a social contribution activity that supports the latest information and communication technology (ICT) devices at schools for the blind nationwide, enabling visually impaired youth to use the library without inconvenience. LG Uplus has been building U+ Hope Libraries at schools for the blind across the country since 2017. The Daegu Gwangmyeong School U+ Hope Library is the seventh library following Cheongju School for the Blind, Gangwon Myeongjin School, Busan School for the Blind, and others.
The funding for the U+ Hope Library support project was raised through a sharing auction participated in by all LG Uplus employees. Using this, LG Uplus donated ICT devices tailored to the characteristics of schools for the blind, such as the latest PCs equipped with voice support programs so that students can study in the library regardless of the degree of visual impairment, monitors dedicated to the visually impaired, and laser printers capable of braille printing.
