"Please use for future car research"... Volkswagen donates Audi to Keimyung University, Kookmin University, Ajou University, and Chungbuk National University
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Gu Daeseon] Keimyung University has decided to join forces with Volkswagen Group Korea to research future automobiles and received experimental practice vehicles as donations.
The donation ceremony held at 3 p.m. on the 5th in front of the main building of Keimyung University's Seongseo Campus was attended by Keimyung University President Shin Ilhee, faculty members of the College of Engineering, professors of the Future Automobile Innovation Shared University Project Group, and students.
As part of industry-academia cooperation activities to nurture specialized software talents for automobiles, Volkswagen Group Korea donated a total of five research vehicles to Kookmin University, the lead university of the Future Automobile Consortium, and participating universities including Keimyung University, Ajou University, and Chungbuk National University.
The donated vehicle is the ‘AUDI A4 40 TFSI PREMIUM 2021’ model. At Keimyung University's Future Innovation Talent Center, it will be used for various educational practices such as future automobile-related courses and team project experiments, disassembling and assembling vehicles for preparation of autonomous driving competitions, autonomous vehicle modification including sensor attachment, and simulation-based experiments.
Keimyung University President Shin Ilhee said, “Keimyung University is focusing on nurturing talent by establishing research facilities including an autonomous driving car track at the Dalseong Campus for future car research,” and added, “We are pleased to collaborate with Volkswagen Group Korea, which boasts world-class standards, to conduct future car research together.”
