'National Sympathy' is led by lawmaker Lee Cheol-gyu, considered a key figure among the party's 'Yun Core Group,' serving as the general secretary. About 70 out of the 115 total People Power Party lawmakers have registered as members, making it the largest group within the party. Notably, although not official members, lawmakers Jang Je-won and Kwon Seong-dong, also classified as core members of the Yun Core Group, attended the first meeting, demonstrating that it is more than just a simple study group.
