View original image[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters announced on the 6th that it conducted a total of 31 firefighting activities related to the sudden heavy snowfall in some parts of southern Gyeonggi, including 7 emergency dispatches for snow-related fall accidents and 24 safety dispatches for public assistance.
At around 8:20 a.m. that day, the Gyeonggi Fire Headquarters responded to a three-bus collision accident that occurred before entering the Singal Junction on the Gyeongbu Expressway (Seoul direction) in Singal-dong, Giheung-gu, Yongin-si (at 394 km), resulting in a total of 24 injured people (1 seriously injured, 23 minor injuries), who were promptly given first aid and transported to hospitals.
Around the same time, in Sangdaewon-dong, Jungwon-gu, Seongnam-si, a man in his 60s who slipped on the snowy road while taking a walk was also transported to a hospital.
The Gyeonggi Fire Headquarters advised that to prevent safety accidents such as falls caused by sudden heavy snowfall, people should refrain from going out as much as possible, and when going out, wear sneakers or hiking boots with wide soles, gloves, and hats to prevent accidents.
Additionally, when driving, they urged caution for black ice formation in shaded and low-temperature areas such as just after tunnels, shaded roads, mountain bends, and curves, advising drivers to maintain sufficient safety distance, reduce speed, and avoid sudden acceleration and braking. They also emphasized the importance of checking tire conditions beforehand and driving safely.
