Parents in Nam-gu, Gwangju, to Share 'Buknyeok Iyagi' on the 7th
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Parents in Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, will hold a gathering to share stories about the people of North Korea.
According to Nam-gu on the 6th, the Nam-gu Parents Education Forum will be held on the 7th in the large conference room on the 8th floor of the district office.
The forum's theme is "Learning Together about North Korea," and about 100 parents and residents from the district are expected to attend.
This forum was organized to help local parents easily explain stories about North Korea's education and culture to their children at home and to promote interest in inter-Korean relations, thereby fostering a correct understanding of North Korea.
The forum will begin with a keynote speech by Lee Jae-bong, Secretary General of the (Corporation) Uri Minjok, and will last about 90 minutes. He plans to provide detailed explanations about North Korea's changes from the 1980s to the late 2010s, including large supermarkets and online shopping mall markets established in Pyongyang, as well as North Korea's education system.
After the keynote speech, Kim Do-young, a teacher at Cheomdan High School, Choi Mi-jung, a parent at Sungui Science and Technology High School, and Seo Hong-bin, an employee of Gonghana Cooperative, will participate as discussants representing the education sector, parents, and youth, respectively.
A Nam-gu official stated, "We organized this education forum with the theme of North Korea stories to provide time for local schools, parents, and the community to think together about inter-Korean issues," adding, "The Nam-gu Parents Education Forum will share an educational vision suitable for the changing times."
