Ulju-gun and Yulchon Foundation Sign Business Agreement for Education Support Project
Educational Support Projects and Nature Experience Learning for Local Children and Adolescents
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Ulju-gun, Ulsan City, held a business agreement ceremony for an education support project on the 6th at the Yulchon Foundation Youth Training Facility in Eonyang-eup with the Yulchon Foundation.
The ceremony, sponsored by the Yulchon Foundation, was attended by about 10 people including County Governor Lee Soon-geol, Yulchon Foundation Chairman Shim Seon-taek, Director Kim Kwang-hyun, Chairperson Kim Myung-ja of the Ulju-gun Regional Children's Center Council, and Director Jeong Hyun-wook of the Ulsan Research Institute.
According to this agreement, both parties will conduct education support projects and nature experience learning for children and adolescents using regional children's centers.
First, the education support project will provide AI and SW education such as coding and metaverse for 4th to 6th grade elementary students and middle school students from this month until November next year, fostering future talents prepared for the 4th Industrial Revolution.
The nature experience learning, which will be operated from January next year, will be linked with the Yulchon Foundation Youth Training Facility to offer children various experiential activities including forest exploration within the facility, promoting stress relief and healthy growth.
Chairman Shim Seon-taek of the foundation said, “Taking this agreement as an opportunity, we will open the path of learning for local children and adolescents and strive to help them grow with bright and clear minds and proper values.”
County Governor Lee Soon-geol said, “I would like to once again thank the Yulchon Foundation for taking the lead in social contribution for local children and adolescents,” adding, “This project, in which the Yulchon Foundation, practicing true education for talent development, and regional children's centers caring for the growth of Ulju children work together, is even more meaningful and highly anticipated.”

The Yulchon Foundation was established in 1984 when the late Shin Chun-ho, former chairman of the Nongshim Group, donated 8 billion won in assets to lay the foundation for scholarship projects. It carries out various scholarship projects for the local community, including scholarship programs, construction and operation of youth training facilities, and academic research support projects.
