US uncovers 4 companies evading China solar tariffs... Hanwha excluded
[Asia Economy New York=Special Correspondent Joselgina] On the 2nd (local time), the U.S. Department of Commerce announced that it identified four companies that circumvented tariffs imposed on Chinese solar-related products by exporting through Southeast Asian countries.
As a result, among the eight companies under investigation, four companies?BYD Hong Kong (Cambodia), Canada Solar (Thailand), Trina (Thailand), and Vina Solar (Vietnam)?were determined to have circumvented tariffs through Southeast Asia. The investigation, which began in March, also included Hanwha's Malaysia operations, but the Department of Commerce concluded that Hanwha did not engage in circumvention exports.
Additionally, the Department of Commerce designated four Southeast Asian countries as countries of circumvention exports for Chinese solar products. However, imports from these countries are not completely banned.
