Seoul City Implements 'Snow Removal Level 1' Emergency Duty Ahead of Snow Forecast
[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Kyung-jun] The Seoul Metropolitan Government will begin snow removal emergency operations at Level 1 from 9 p.m. on the 2nd, as snow or rain is forecast in the metropolitan area between midnight and 3 p.m. on the 3rd.
When Level 1 emergency operations are declared, 33 organizations including the Seoul city government, autonomous districts, the Facilities Corporation, and the Road Business Office will prepare to deploy approximately 4,600 snow removal personnel and around 1,100 pieces of equipment.
The city plans to collaborate with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the National Police Agency to detect snowfall in the West Coast region via CCTV. If snow is observed in areas such as Incheon, snow removal vehicles will be dispatched to the site to preemptively spread de-icing agents.
