Lotte Department Store to Sell Whiskey and Vodka at Yongpyong Ski Resort

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] Lotte Department Store announced on the 1st that it will open a pop-up store under the name ‘Lotbaek Yangjo’ at Yongpyong Resort until January 15 next year.
This pop-up store is designed to target the MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z) who enjoy winter sports, while also focusing on creating a luxurious atmosphere. Inspired by the words ‘ski’ and ‘board,’ the main concept centers around a distillery featuring whiskey and vodka, which have recently gained popularity among the MZ generation.
Various brands will be showcased during the event. A total of six brands, including the outdoor brand ‘Arc'teryx,’ beauty brand ‘SK2,’ and liquor brands such as ‘Chivas Regal’ and ‘Absolut,’ will present their winter season products.
There will also be various marketing promotions. First, under the theme ‘Find the Husky,’ visitors who take a photo of the Siberian Husky character mini balloons installed on major slopes within the ski resort during the pop-up store period and upload it will receive a ‘Lotbaek Yangjo Sticker Pack.’ Additionally, customers who purchase over 200,000 KRW at Lotbaek Yangjo will receive a ‘Husky Snow Maker,’ and visiting customers will be given chocolates.

Kim Jihyun, head of marketing at Lotte Department Store, said, “We prepared this project to present a new type of pop-up store to customers, going beyond the limitations of the department store space,” adding, “From the interior concept to the brand lineup, we have prepared for several months to propose new trends to customers who come to enjoy winter sports and to provide a unique shopping experience.”
