Chungnam Seosan and Hongseong Designated as 'Sewage Maintenance Priority Management Areas'
[Asia Economy (Hongseong) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] The areas of Seosan and Hongseong in Chungnam have been designated as priority management areas for sewer maintenance, securing part of the project costs from national funds.
The province announced on the 30th that two new areas, Seosan and Hongseong, were newly designated as the Ministry of Environment's '2022 Sewer Maintenance Priority Management Areas.'
The priority management areas designated by the Ministry of Environment include 1.86㎢ in Dongmun-dong, Eumnae-dong, and Seokrim-dong in Seosan City, and 0.45㎢ in Goam-ri and Daegyo-ri in Hongseong-eup, Hongseong-gun.
Priority management areas are designated and announced by the Ministry of Environment upon application by local governments for areas frequently affected by flooding. For designated areas, 60% of the project costs are covered by national funds, allowing for the expansion and maintenance of sewer facilities such as upgrading excellent pipelines and the new or expanded installation of rainwater pumping stations through sewer maintenance measures.
