[Asia Economy Reporter Han Ye-ju] Park Jae-hyun, President of Korea Water Resources Corporation, has tendered his resignation with about three months left in his term.
According to the Water Resources Corporation on the 28th, President Park officially submitted his resignation to the Ministry of Environment, his affiliated institution, on the 25th. The reason cited is "personal reasons," and the resignation is awaiting final approval.
President Park, an expert in water resources who earned a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering (Hydraulic Engineering) from Seoul National University, served as a specialist on the Moon Jae-in administration's Four Major Rivers Investigation and Evaluation Committee during his tenure as a professor at Inje University, actively working on dismantling the Geumsan and Yeongsan River weirs.

He was appointed as the 15th president of the Korea Water Resources Corporation at the end of February 2020, with his term set to expire on February 27, 2023.
