Service Competition '2022 Lexus Skill Contest' Held
Determining the Number One in a Total of 6 Categories
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Lexus Korea announced on the 28th that it held the ‘2022 Lexus Skill Contest,’ a competition to select the best service talents.
The Lexus Skill Contest held on the 26th is an opportunity to strengthen the capabilities of all service positions, including technicians and service advisors who meet customers at service centers of dealers nationwide, as well as a competition to select the best service talents. The Skill Contest, which has become a foundation for realizing customer satisfaction not only in products but also in the service field, started in 2002, and since 2013, Toyota and Lexus brands have alternately held the Skill Contest every other year.
The Skill Contest, held in six categories: ▲Service Advisor ▲General Maintenance ▲Sheet Metal ▲Painting ▲Parts ▲Customer Support, featured 41 dealer winners selected through internal competitions from eight Lexus dealers nationwide. The intense competition simulated actual service sites, including a written test evaluating precise theoretical knowledge, role-playing testing customer parts order situations using the electric vehicle model ‘UX 300e,’ and a demonstration of the vehicle intake process using the plug-in hybrid model ‘NX 450h+.’
This year’s contest was specially attended by students and faculty from universities participating in the 'T-TEP' industry-academia cooperation education program for nurturing talents in the automotive field, who visited the site to experience the automotive industry firsthand.
The six winners who took first place in each category in this contest will have their names inscribed as the 2022 champions in the Toyota Training Center’s ‘Hall of Fame,’ which records the history of the ‘Lexus Service Champions.’
