Gyeonggi Province announced on the 27th that it conducted a pilot life safety awareness education for 342 people at 10 locations, including Suwon Gwanggyo Comprehensive Social Welfare Center (elderly), CJ Logistics Center (workers), Suwon Dream (youth), and Ansan Multicultural Support Center (multicultural families) from October to November, and reported good results, deciding to promote various forms of safety culture education.
The expanded education will move away from rote learning and emphasize "not just adequate but safe" through flexible and creative storytelling and immersive video education, focusing on raising voluntary safety awareness among residents.
In particular, Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon will deliver a video message as a 'One-day Safety Ambassador.'
Key educational content includes guidance on the proper use of Personal Mobility (PM) devices for adolescents and traffic safety education such as "Chaman Son" (Raise your hand when meeting a car) for the elderly. Locations are selected reflecting the characteristics of the target groups, such as daycare centers, day care centers, multicultural family support centers, social welfare centers, and logistics centers.
Along with on-site education, the province will promote various educational activities that resonate with residents, including ▲2023 Safer Gyeonggi Province Creative Content Contest ▲Consultations and academic conferences with related academic societies such as the Korean Society of Disaster Prevention ▲'Hand-in-hand Talk Live' with famous personalities ▲Production of educational materials combining storytelling audio and video.
