3 Consecutive Years of Awards, Proving Excellence in Livestock Administration
[Boseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Cheon-seok] Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it has proven the excellence of its livestock administration by winning awards for three consecutive years in the comprehensive evaluation of livestock policy conducted by Jeollanam-do.
This year, Boseong-gun received the Excellence Award, having previously won the Grand Prize in 2021 and the Encouragement Award in 2020.
Boseong-gun received high evaluations across all fields including ▲Livestock Policy - 100% certification of farms supported by the Green Livestock Promotion Fund, 90% performance in livestock ICT projects ▲Animal Welfare - 100% achievement of the Green Livestock Farm designation target, excellence in stray animal protection and management ▲Livestock Management - early execution of 70% of forage crop cultivation and project expenses, excellence in six inspections of the livestock product traceability system ▲Livestock Resources - 100% achievement of the clean farm designation application target, excellence in student horseback riding experiences.
Additionally, this year Boseong-gun is investing approximately 13.5 billion KRW in five sectors to strengthen livestock competitiveness, and has secured 7.2 billion KRW in government special feed purchase funds (loans) to alleviate the management burden on livestock farms caused by soaring feed prices.
In particular, the county is actively responding to difficulties faced by local livestock farms through its own projects. Due to the severe drought this spring and the resulting decrease in forage production causing a surge in forage prices, 250 million KRW was provided to support the purchase of 50,000 rolls of forage corn silage to ease the burden on farms.
Furthermore, 100 million KRW was provided for 16 tons of composting agent to recycle livestock manure resources, and 780 million KRW was allocated to support artificial insemination fees for Korean cattle, actively promoting farm management stability.
Kim Cheol-woo, the governor of Boseong-gun, stated, “We will continue to strive to foster sustainable livestock farming in harmony with the environment, which is a key policy of Jeollanam-do, to significantly contribute to increasing farm income.”
Meanwhile, Jeollanam-do conducts a comprehensive evaluation of livestock policies every year by assessing the performance of livestock policy implementation over the year in 22 cities and counties within the province to enhance the effectiveness of livestock projects and promote creative policy implementation.
