This is the second store in Hawaii, following the opening of the first store, Quono Mall in the Kahala area of Honolulu City, last November.
The Aiea area is home to the largest indoor shopping center in Hawaii, the 'Pearlridge Center,' and is characterized by a high flow of people due to its proximity to the 'Pearl Harbor National Memorial,' a popular tourist attraction.
According to BBQ, the most popular menu among tourists and locals visiting the Aiea branch is BBQ's signature menu, 'Golden Olive Chicken,' followed by 'Original Seasoned Chicken' and 'Honey Garlic.' Since its soft opening, the store has recorded an average daily sales of about $4,000.
BBQ plans to sequentially open stores in major commercial areas of Hawaii, which is once again approaching the era of 10 million visitors after the pandemic, and to actively expand its stores. Earlier this year, at a joint hearing in Hawaii, Sylvia Luke, Chair of the House Finance Committee, projected the number of visitors to Hawaii in 2024 to be up to 12 million.
BBQ currently operates in a total of 20 states, including major regions in the U.S. such as New York, New Jersey, California, Texas, and Illinois. It operates a total of 150 stores in the U.S., and with the recent growth of BSK (BBQ Smart Kitchen), BBQ's delivery and takeout specialized stores, it plans to open more than 500 stores.

A BBQ official said, “Due to the positive results of the first store, Quono Mall in the Kahala area, and the great interest from tourists and locals, we have opened the second store in the high-traffic Aiea area.” He added, “We will continue to expand stores in Hawaii, a key hub of the food service industry where global franchise companies gather, and maintain our position as a representative brand of K-chicken.”
