Pernod Ricard Leads Domestic High-End Whiskey Market with 'Royal Salute 30 Years'
Domestic Prestige Scotch Whisky Sales Increase by 80% Over the Past 4 Months Driving Overall Market Growth
Brand Portfolio Strengthened with 'Royal Salute 30 Years' Following Existing 38 and 52 Years
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Pernod Ricard Korea announced its intention to lead the domestic high-end whiskey market through aged, high-quality whiskey by introducing the new high-end collection 'Royal Salute 30 Years' of the Scotch blended whiskey 'Royal Salute' as a regular lineup.
On the 24th, Pernod Ricard Korea held a press conference at 'Maison Le Cercle' in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and unveiled the 'Royal Salute 30 Years Special Ritual Kit' to commemorate the launch of Royal Salute 30 Years.
Royal Salute leads the prestige whiskey market with a diverse high-end lineup including 'Royal Salute 21 Years Malt' and 'Royal Salute 21 Years Blended Grain,' which use raw materials aged for at least 21 years, as well as 38-year and 52-year products. By adding the 30-year product to the regular lineup this time, it has expanded consumers' choices.
According to Pernod Ricard Korea, the domestic international Scotch whiskey sales volume grew by 52% year-on-year over the recent four months (July to October this year). Additionally, as consumers seeking aged, high-quality whiskey increased and new category products such as blended grain were launched in the market, sales of 21-year prestige-grade Scotch whiskey increased by more than 80% during the same period.
Franz Horton, CEO of Pernod Ricard Korea, is introducing the trends and growth of high-end whiskey at the Royal Salute press conference held on the morning of the 24th at Maison Le Cercle in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.

Franz Horton, CEO of Pernod Ricard Korea, explained, "A new drinking culture such as highball is emerging in the Korean market," adding, "Consumers want to know a lot about the whiskey market and have a lot of information." He also added, "The influx of new consumer groups such as young consumers and women is also an important reason."
Meanwhile, to commemorate the launch of Royal Salute 30 Years, Pernod Ricard Korea also unveiled the 'Royal Salute 30 Years Special Ritual Kit,' created in collaboration with world-renowned artist Yang Tae-oh. This special kit is produced as a single piece worldwide and is exclusively presented to Korean consumers. It offers a new type of ritual that allows a deep exploration of the value and essence of 30-year-old whiskey.
