[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters is concentrating firefighting resources and operating an emergency medical station at Suwon World Cup Stadium, where the cheering events for the '2022 Qatar World Cup' South Korea matches will be held.
The Fire Headquarters announced that it will support firefighting efforts on three occasions: the 24th and 28th of this month, and the 3rd of next month, when the cheering events for the South Korea matches take place.
Regarding the support status, first, four people including the Chief of Suwon Southern Fire Station will oversee on-site situation management from a temporary headquarters set up in the stadium's skybox, establishing a rapid reporting and response system.
Additionally, on-site safety management personnel composed of 12 members in four teams of firefighters and volunteer firefighters will be deployed to conduct mobile patrols around the stadium.
In particular, after the events conclude, promotional broadcasts for safe return home and preparations against fire hazards such as cigarette butts and celebratory fireworks will be conducted.
The Fire Headquarters will also operate an on-site emergency medical station inside the stadium.
The headquarters' ambulance response team leader, along with six paramedics and volunteer firefighters, and one ambulance (with three additional private ambulances from Gyeonggi-do planned to be deployed) will be stationed at the main front entrance inside the stadium to provide emergency treatment and promptly transport patients to hospitals.
Furthermore, one fire pump truck will be positioned near the south stand of the stadium.
Besides this, the Fire Headquarters will maintain cooperation with relevant local governments focusing on cheering events and crowded areas in each city and county, and the jurisdictional fire stations will conduct patrols.
